AFAIK no one else out there (meaning printers) uses or used to the
printing mechanism as in the DMP106/105, so it's going to be really
tough to find new ribbons for them. Anyone on the list with some
hunting tips for DMP106 cartridges please post!

What I have done to make my DMP-106 work for a bit more well beyond
it's 'useful' life, is that I have been reinking the ribbons. I've
used stamp pad black ink with great success extending the life of the
DMP-106 typical ribbon and got good results of each cart; the reinking
process is simple: just rub fresh ink with the roller onto the ribbon
and let rest the ribbon for at least 36 hours before using. If the
fabric on the ribbon becomes too worn then the cart gets tossed out.
Been able to reink each cart for at least 5 times... that's a lot of
printed pages.
