[Coco] Transplanting 512K RAM expansion?

Fedor, apart from removing the ram chips, the coco3 will still remain
useable when you modify it for 512K. Removing the capacitors does not stop
the coco3 from working as a 128K machine in any way.

Thanks, Bob. I understand from what you are saying that one cannot perform a
512K transplant without rendering the source CoCo unusable, because the
original 128K RAM chips are removed as well as several capacitators.

My problem is that I have a very clean and beautiful Australian CoCo3 (for
PAL/240V and with 128K) and an old ugly and very dusty CoCo3 (for NTSC/240V
and with 512K) previously owned by a heavy smoker. What I want is a CoCo3
that is beautiful on the inside (for PAL/240V and with 512K) as well as on
the outside (rather like my wife, really).

However, I am not ready to sacrifice the old, ugly CoCo just yet, so I will
have to figure out something else. I will in any case need to keep both.

Cheers,

Fedor
