[Coco] Transplanting 512K RAM expansion?

Fedor, it depends on whether the other coco3 has already been modified for
512K before. If it has, then yes, it is that easy. If not, you have to clip
out some capacitors (C65 C66? IIRC). In any case, the original 4 memory
chips must be removed if they are still there.

Hope it helps.

Subject: [Coco] Transplanting 512K RAM expansion?

Hi,

I want to transplant a 512K RAM expansion from one CoCo3 to another, but not
being a hardware buff, I am a bit uncertain on how to proceed.

The 512K RAM expansion seems to sit on top over the location of the original
128K RAM-blocks, so it seems an easy job of taking it out and putting it in
the other CoCo over the 128K RAM-blocks. Is it really that simple? Or are
there other measures I need to take?

Cheers,

Fedor
