Similar but not exactly. What I had in mind is to expand the S-buss off the 
GIME chip and bring out 8 decode signal for each block of 16 addresses in 
the range from $FF00 to $FF7F. That adds at least 8 more lines to the 
expansion port. 

For about the past year I have toyed with ideas of how to grow the GIME 
chip. First started as a potential replacement but now has kind of grown into 
a newer more powerful chip in a FPGA. I just have to stop looking at new 
ideas and finish at least a basic chip. 

I get my new PC hardware this week and plan to upgrade my HDL software 
and add on some more ECAD software in the near future. I have to decide 
on which Linux distribution I want. I want one thaqt does not require the bulk 
of my time playing sys admin.
