Actually into a joystick port and the cassette port IIRC.

plugs into
the left and right port then the joystick pluged into the other side of the 
interface. I don't
recall what the other peripheral was, weather it was a standard radio shack 
trimport
joystick (I am fairly sure it is) or another brand.
