Linux uses a linefeed chrs($10) as the EOL convention, whereas os9 uses a
carriage return, chrs($13). The broken line may be an artifact of the no
linefeeds, and the editor may have tried to word wrap it when it ran out
of line buffer or something similar. I'd try a different editor, and if
need be, use a hex editor to change the $10's back into $13's before
feeding it to mb.
