This might be a case of nobody ever used it (in a pc) so the 3rd drive
feature went away. In that event, twisted cable for the 3rd drive is
required in order to steer DS2 to the DS1 pin on the third drive.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
