Older versions of Symantic tools that ran on Windoze 95 allowed viewing the
disk info. I seem to rember that the hard disk info sat on sector zero of track
zero. The first 512 bytes is all the disk parameters. Heads, sectors and a bunch
of other stuff.

I seem to rember the executable was Disk Doctor or Disk Edit! I remember using
them because Norton's Disk Lock crashed and cross threaded the fat tables for a
120 MByte disk. It took me 2 days to recover the disk at work.
