Frank, I never said you paid too much, I , I just said I thought nobody
would buy them at that price, thats all. I have found that with a bunch of
my stuff, that is the case, and what I think will go at high prices, nobody
even look at. Its a tricky thing to price the stuff out. I go by the prices
usally on e-bay and add about 10% to what I paid for it, but obvously, the
prices jump almost daily. I have had 3 perfectly good CoCo 1 's up for
between $10- $20 with box etc and no one has touched them, yet some on e-bay
go for up to $50 in the box. I have had 16K CoCo2's for $5 and 64K for $9
and no one has touch them, but they can go for also up to $50 in simular
condition on e-bay. Now, Out of respect to Mark and Boisy, I wont sell CoCo
3's, but Just in the past week, some have gone for as little as $3 and as
high as $50. There seems no ryme or reason to the price jump except that
obvously the peson who paid over $100 for the last 5 issues of rainbow has
no Idea that the DVD project is in the works, and obvously doesn't read
these fourms, or doesn't care, but my point is that that alot of the sellers
are now expecting the high prices, and where does it all end? now I could
shut down the online store and make a wack of money now on e-bay, especialy
with my last year of rainbow magazines, (buy the way, on Average I only make
less then $100 a month from my store, but its really only there to help with
the hosting fees), but where does that leave me, or the people who want the
odd game or cartridge, and a lot of people don't like the hassel of e-bay.
Thats why I have been looking into making new hardware, although not cheap,
the floppy drives are the easist to start with, as most parts except the
cables and case are "Off the Shelf". I have been talking with electonic
builders to design and market a "New" multi-pak, but so far the cost of the
components is way more than worth the trouble (latest "Per Unit" cost was
about $120 for just the parts.)
