I'm pretty sure it would, as long as you can change the speed of rotation.
Oh wait, that's just Apple disks... :)

I'm not sure how GCR is implemented, specifically, and did just find out
how MFM works yesterday ;), so my comments should be taken with a grain of
salt. :)
