[Color Computer] Fw: [coco] wondering about 68k machines

One thing I've learned is that the Mac 512 is a dead issue. Even though it
has a 68000, it has no support, no mods, no hacks, nothing.
It's good for parts. I.E. >chips.

I've been thinking of repacking a coco into my Mac 512. Even if I have to
put a TV into the danged thing to get a display.
I've also thought of incorporating it into my rock fence as a novelty.
(Remember?)

If you think Lonnie and Disney have things corralled, check into Apple's
thinking on sharing.
Remember RatShack's proprietary OS and hardware? Even though it was MS, if
you didn't buy it from RS, it won't work on their machines.

Everyone in those days were paranoid and possessive... until IBM decided
that it would be a good idea to share the info on their machines so anyone
could write software and build hardware for those boxes.
The computer industry exploded with new software and hardware to support
those machines and now we have the biggest, baddest, fastest machines we
could have ever imagined.
Now, with the power and speed at hand, we can make more mistakes in less
time than ever before!!!

George
