Michael;

IDG would be the current copyright holder, as we bought all rights to the
articles we published and ownership would not have reverted to the
authors. I don't know who the right person to contact would be, but I
suggest you start with the corporate communications people:

 Main Phone Number
617-423-9030

Howard Sholkin
Corporate Communications Director
email: howard_sholkin at idg.com

Susanna Hinds
Corporate Communications Manager
email: susanna_hinds at idg.com

The IDG Web site has contact information for anyone wanting to license
their content. Do not go through them. They will definitely want money.
Your best hope is that someone in corp. comm. will take an interest in
what you are doing and put you in touch with someone who can help you.

Let me know how it turns out.

  Michael,

I am hoping you might be able to help me out in my search for the
copyright holder for Hot Coco magazine. There are several of us that
would like to scan this magazine in and make it available to the public
but want to make sure that there are no copyright infringements. I
contacted Wayne Green and he said that he sold the magazine to IDG - do
you know who I might contact to get permission to do this??

I have attained permission from Lonnie Falk, Rainbow magazine's
copyright holder, to distribute .pdfs of the Rainbow for a licensing fee
per issue - I am hoping that we can gain permission to redistribute Hot
Coco for free if possible...

  Thanks for your time!

  Regards,
  Michael Harwood
