The circuit boards are indeed different. The 26-3024 upgrades by swapping
the PAL (Programmable Array Logic) chip with one that is programmed
differently. The 26-3124 is upgraded by adding a TTL 74LS?? chip, cutting a
trace and adding some wiring. Aside from that, they function the same.
