No, there was some sort of tie up deal, posibly Tandy was going to buy
Allied, but for sure Chuck Tandy never sold Radio Shack. There were
definitely some Allied/Radio Shack productions for a while, e.g. the ALLIED
RADIO SHACK Model AX-190 Communications Receiver.

In 1970 Allied moved its headquarters from Chicago, Illinois to Fort Worth,
Texas. (Hmmm).

In 1999 Allied Electronics acquired by Electrocomponents of the United
Kingdom.

They bought the whole thing. They made it profitable, but the stuff they
made became crap.

> Heathkit was bought by Schlumberger(sp?)

May have been the other way around. Zenith bought Heath and then shut it
down. There is an argument about whether Zenith helped or hurt, but times
changed and the economics forced Heath to close the kit lines.
