Gene, got to agree with you there. I was using for a while SuSE Linux
6.4, which ran fine on my 450 MHz AMD system without a hitch, even
used it to get my mail, connect to internet and game playing for my
son and I. However, My dual boot Win98 / Linux system became dated
because of the Win98, so I built a new system with AMD 2.4 GHz. WinXP
Home was bloatware so I had to scrub the Linux 6.4 system and reformat
my 15 GB HD. Then on top of that, 6.4 didn't support the new hardware.

However, this spring or mebbe sooner, I may opt for Mandrake instead
of SuSE, seeing that SuSE has gotten more expensive.

As far as M$ going down, I know that Linux is starting to build
momentum. It appears the legal threats by M$ is a sign they are
losing ground, which is unfortunate that they must involve lawyers to
maintain their monopoly.
