Considering there's tons of prewritten C cross compilers floating around
the web and ready to tweak, some of which are already spitting out 6809
code, I think this should be an easy project for somebody out there. You'd
be surprised at how many programmers would do this for free, even if just
for the recognition, or a learning experience.
All of this is a hobby, anyway. I'm not sure if anybody here is earning a
living writing 6809 programs or programs that write 6809 code. I know I'm not.
Perhaps I will write this C compiler myself from scratch. I can definately
do it, but I would never in a million years try to recover $165/hour that
it takes me to produce it, but if it's the only way for a 6809-based C
cross compiler to become available for Windows, then I will put this on my
agenda and promise to get it done. Not only that, but it will eclipse the
quality of all existing compilers of it's kind. Whether or not more than
10 people will ever use it for it's worth, is something I cannot answer or
put a value on. Hence, the $200 offer to come up with ANY form of a
working C cross compiler for the CoCo, that probably 10 people will appreciate.
;)
Thanks,
