John,

The complete source code to Projector-3 is available on CoCo3.com.  It 
comes in the Portal-9 source pak download.  You'll get the assembly source 
to many picture formats like GIF, BMP, VEF, RAT, MGE, CM3, PIX, BIN, TNY, 
and more.  Some of those also include encoders (GIF and MGE, to name a few).
