It should be noted that an unmodified S/SC will work with a CoCo 3.

But the S/SC does not fully support running at the 1.78 Mhz clock speed.
Since Color BASIC normally is running at 0.89 Mhz everthing should be
fine there.

OS-9 Level 2 runs normally at the 1.78 Mhz so that would cause a
problem.
