That is not as silly as you might think. Actually to make an 8 bit ISA bus
interface is easy. The hardest part is to get older 8 bit video cards and data on
them to write drivers for them. That thought has crossed my mind.
Then you no longer are slaved to the video logic contained within the GIME
Chip. The one major draw back is that these video cards often have address
ranges in the lower part of memory that would need to be translated up.
