The 68HC11 was at the heart of Imperial Boat's Intellidash. Not exactly a 
6809, but the fundamental core was the same.

The Intellidash gave the speedboat an LCD display with Tachometer and clock 
among other displays.

Unfortunately, the company went into financial ruin after purchashing inferior 
resin from a supplier. They fought to recover their losses, but the case went 
before endless litigation that bankrupted the company.
