It was good seeing Dennis again after 20 or so years.
The wife and I took the train under the Hudson and cabbed over St.
Mark's Place. Lisa had been to other events at the venue before.
Dennis's piece was one of eight. The soprano soloist, Beth Griffith,
was fantastic. I didn't understand a word, as it's in Russian, but I
didn't need to.
The other main performer in several other pieces, cellist Craig
Hultgren, did things to a cello I've never heard done on purpose. And
did them fantastically.
It would have been great to chat longer with Dennis, but he and his wife
had to quickly head back to Vermont (she has to be at work at a
ridiculously early hour tomorrow).

You had to admire the way perfectly innocent words were mugged, ravaged,
stripped of all true meaning and decency, and then sent to walk the
gutter for Reacher Gilt, although "synergistically" had probably been a
whore from the start. -- Terry Pratchett, _Going Postal_
