>So what city and state does everyone live in? I'm in Knoxville, TN.
>Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.
Hmmmm.....since you started it :D
Well currently I'm in the same State when I got my very first
CoCo......let me elaborate :D
Well 20 and 1/2 years ago I was living in Yuma, Az while pops was
attached to the Harrier and Weapons units at the MCAS there I got my
first CoCo. A brand spankin new white case 64k CoCo I (yes that's a
ONE). It was one of those BIG suckers but it was sweeeeeet! First
programs I ran was Marathon (from the '83 Rainbow) and Dungeons of
Daggorath.
In 84 we went to Tennessee for a year till pops retired. Not much went on
there except for my first exposure to OS-9 Level I, getting online with
a 300 baud modem, and getting a snazzy DMP-200. IT rockeD!
In 85 when pops retired we moved back to the Vegas 'metro' area. Little
suburb outside of vegas called Henderson. (Look in the Image Master
About Box). This was where the fun REALLY began.
First few months there I met Alex State who got out of the CoCo a year or
two afterwards, Bill Vergona of Cer-Comp, several other misc. people and
my nemesic....Eric Crichlow.! (He's the evil one btw).
Moving right along into 1986, I got my CoCo III, met a few more CoCo
people including Mike Haaland (who along with Eric and I formed
Hyper-Tech Software).
Spent a few more years there when in 1994 I headed out to O-HI-O. It was
interested and I attended my first AtlantaFest. Met Allen Huffman and a
few others.
Then came Iowa where I worked for Microware, along with Eric Crichlow,
Boisy, Allen, Joel Hegberg, and a few other notable Microware folks.
Then I headed out west (again) to California where I spent a couple of
years working on more OS-9 stuff for Americast and Rockwell Collins.
Got tired of the earth shaking every few days so I packed up again and
went back to Vegas.....again. Of course this was a good thing because it
I realized exactly why I left in the first place :D
Did about a year there, got tired of it, and packed up yet again....this
time to sunny Phx Arizona.
That was 4 years ago this month and I have absolutely NO intention of
EVER moving again.
So there ya have it....I'm in Arizona and my current state is "I ain't
budgin!"
Of course it would have been a lot easier to just say Arizona....but
there's no fun in that :D
...Chet...
