[Coco] MESS + Nitros9 + Hard Drives

I am trying out Nitros9 level 2, V03.02.02, within MESS. I have a completely
blank Hard drive image that I wish to use. I went through the documentation
but I haven't figured out how to get nitros9 to see the vhd. I assume that
this exercise would be exactly the same as on a real coco3 with a superIDE
compact flash drive.

Anyone got any hints (remember that I am a complete newbie to Nitros9/os9).
