Hello everyone,

At www.nitros9.org you will find the latest release of NitrOS-9.
Here's a brief summary of the major changes in this release:

1. Two new clocks have been added for Jeff Vavasour's CoCo emulator and
MESS: clock2_jvemu and clock2_messemu, respectively.
2. kernel, kernelp2, kernelp3_perr and kernelp4_regdump have been
renamed to krn, krnp2, krnp3_perr and krnp4_regdump respectively.
3. cc3disk has been renamed to rb1773 and has been back-ported to
NitrOS-9 Level 1. A bug in the verify routine has been fixed.
4. Drivers for the Disto Super Controller II are now available as
rb1773_scii_ff74.dr and rb1773_scii_ff58.dr.
5. grfint.io now exists and can be used to replace windint.io in
bootfiles where Multi-Vue windowing functionality is not needed, in
order to save system RAM.
6. Changes in scf and grfdrv have resulted in faster text screen
performance under NitrOS-9/6809 Level 2.
7. A bug related to system memory allocation and DAT blocks has been
fixed in krn.
8. ioman now properly unlinks a device descriptor at I$Detach time.
9. The pmap command has several bug fixes.
10. The copy command now has write verification with -v.
11. term_t1.dd has been renamed to term_sio.dd and term_sc6551.dd has
been added.

I highly encourage everyone to update to this latest release. Several
bugs were squashed and some new features have been added. For example,
those of you using the 6809 Level 2 version will notice a considerable
performance boost in text and graphic windows, thanks to Alan DeKok's
block write call into GrfDrv. This is the same feature that TuneUp
had, and definitely makes text windows snappier.

Enjoy,
Boisy
