If it were to be done it would be best to simply lay some groundrules
(resolution, color depth, file format, file name format, etc.) and
distribute the work among as many people as possible so no one person
has too much to do.

The fastest way to scan stuff is to chop off the binding and place into
a sheet fed scanner. But I don't think there will be many folks willing
to do that to any copies of Rainbow. So the work will probably be done
the hard way, one page at a time.
