Sorry I forgot to mention that resistor values can drift, too.
In really old equipment, I've found that resistors usually go UP, not down, 
in value, especially if they've been run hot (and there are plenty of 
hot-running components in power supplies).  I've seen them 2x to 4x their original 
value.

Either way, it pays to check the resistor values and be ready to replace.
