Well .... If you have a debug build, which means the debug code is part of MESS,
then the line in mess.ini
debug 0
controls whether the debugger actually runs; 0 means no, 1 yes.
There is also a "debug_resolution auto" entry which does something.
Since the release versions of MESS are not debug builds, you will need to
compile your own version of MESS while asking for a debug build.
