It was just too wierd for me to spend time hacking the format. The only
other format I had trouble with at first was for CoCo Max 3. If I can
still recall without glancing at my CM3 source, the compression uses bit
flags to peek at the previous line or to repeat the last color, or to use a
new color, etc. It's not a bad alg.
I think I called Rick once about .NIB and wrote him once or twice. It's
been years. Someone did send me the .SQS format during this time I was
trying to view the CFDM disk pictures. Occasionally, I think there was a
.SQS file, or maybe that was the Fractal generator that spit them out, that
came on one of the CFDM issues.
