Let's try one final time to resolve this. The problem is revolves about
a proper understanding the terminology of the files and disk (.dsk) images.

No to part of the above. It won't matter how you save ascii files.
However, that probably is not relevant to your problems. It is the
format in which the file is placed on the .dsk image that is causing a
problem. Tokenized Basic files must be saved as tokenized files, ascii
as ascii, and machine language files as binary. A crucial part of this
is the type code placed in the directory. If that code is wrong, it
won't matter what shape the files are in.

Mozilla and therefore most likely Firebird permits a right click on a
link. That brings up the choice "save link target as ...", a binary
save. A double click on a link will save based on what the browser
thinks the extension indicates, not necessarily binary. The right click
choice should be good for any file.

Try PORT.EXE instead of IMGTOOL. It may be easier for you to select the
correct formats for file transfer.

The images were made by creating empty files with Notepad, DSKINI-ing
them from MESS (which made them 35 track single sided images), and
transferring files to the .dsk with PORT (part of the Vavasour/Collyer
emulator).
