Since "POLCAT's" scan routine already does this why do you 
want to do it directly? You could read the keyboard rollover 
table from low ram instead. If you wanted to use the PIA for 
other things besides the keyboard then perhaps you should 
interface another PIA to your coco. Checkout old articles 
from rainbow magazine about building an eprom programmer for 
the coco. Some of these articles use 6821 PIA's and some use 
other PIO chips like Intels 8255PPI. One article I saw even 
used a 6522VIA.
