That’s right! This Friday I’ll be headlining the Minstrel Coffeehouse in
Morristown, NJ. I have been coming to the Minstrel for more years than I’d
care to admit, and Mike Agranoff and company have been very good to me. In
fact, my first all-dulcimer show was at the Minstrel; opening for
Tanglefoot 13(!) years ago. Plus, they have my favorite ticket policy: $10
to get in, plus what you would have been willing to pay on you way out.

Over the years I’ve been lucky to open for or co-bill with some great
folks: Randall Williams, Bill Staines, Tom Chapin to name a few. In fact,
it was opening for Tom that led to this gig. After my opening set last
August (which apparently went very well) Mike, the organizer proposed to
the audience that if 25 or more people promised to “add me to their
calendar” he’d bring me back as a headliner. Well, nearly 60 of you did, so
that’s where I’ll be Friday night. This is a big deal, and I’m very excited
about it. So if you live within striking distance of the Minstrel, please
come see the show!

If you don’t live within striking distance of the Minstrel, you can still
catch the show. They now broadcast live via Concert Window. So if you don’t
live close, but still want to “attend” you can now do that too.
http://folkproject.org/concertwindow/concertwindow.shtml will walk you
through the process.

Then on Saturday, I’ll be playing a “house concert” at St. John’s Episcopal
Church in New Hartford. This was put together by John Hudson up there. Big
thanks to Sam Edelston for helping out with that as well.

Next week I’ll be at the 30th Annual Mountain Music Dulcimer Festival in
Albany, NY with Sue Carpenter, Susan Trump, Sam Edelston and others. But
more on that next week.

Finally. Last time we talked, I had just proposed to Trish. Well, last week
we got married. Did it here in Chattanooga at the waterfront, which is not
coincidentally named “Ross’s Landing.” We then went on a “mini-moon” in
Knoxville and capped the weekend seeing Tommy Emmanuel and Jake Shimabukuro
at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. This has been a very busy, but VERY
good month so far.

Ok, that’s all the news for now. If you can make it out to any of these
shows or encourage local friends to come, please do. I’d love to see you.

Here’s those shows again.
