Wendy

I agree whole heartedly with your comments. Having been to one argfest
as well I agree that that the community is focussed and has a great
sense of family that is way and above what might be found in an
'industry conference'.

An idea you might wish to consider is to take the SIG on the road to
specific conferences for publishing, game Dev, television, etc. You
know, bring the mountain to them rather than wait for them to turn
up / catch up.
