Mez is well-known a net artist whose latest experiment is a work with the
Ars Virtua Foundation. It is titled _Augmentology 1[L]0[L]1_ and Mez
welcomes any contributors in the form of comments and posts to develop the
‘Synthetic Reality Manual’:

_Augmentology 1[L]0[L]1_ explores concepts that shape and are shaped by an
extensive range of online/synthetic encounters. These concepts are formed
through principles generated internally within specific online environments.
These environments include - among others - Massively Multiplayer Online
Environments [World <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Warcraft> of
Warcraft, EVE Online <http://www.eve-online.com/> , Second
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Life> Life], Social Networking
Platforms [Twitter <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter> , Facebook
<http://www.crunchbase.com/company/facebook> , OpenSocia
<http://code.google.com/apis/opensocial/> l], Social Gaming [Passively
<http://passivelymultiplayer.com/about/> Multiplayer Online Game, Parallel
Kingdom <http://www.parallelkingdom.com/> ] and Alternate Reality Games [I
Love Bees <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Love_Bees> , Perplex_City
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perplex_City> , Year Zero
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Zero_%28album%29> ]. Entries will dissect
post-geophysically defined notions of reality through a mixture of:

* Platform-specific case studies.
* Analysis of contextual behaviour sets.
* Construction of theoretical projections derived via synthetic, mixed
<http://www.techweb.com/encyclopedia/defineterm.jhtml?term=mixedreality>
and augmented <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augmented_reality> formats.

Each post and comment block adds information involving insights derived from
online dynamics, structuring and mechanics. The aim of this Augmentology
project is to construct a new discipline. This discipline is to be
formulated and documented appropriately online. This discipline is not
intended for academic ratification and does not adhere to canonised
standards of referencing and/or validation. All materials linked are
accessible online and are presented in order to encourage link-based -
rather than directional - information accumulation. These references include
a mixture of verifiable and speculative sources.

_Augmentology 1[L]0[L]1_ acts as repository for agglomerative output that,
when viewed aggregationally, is to be considered a Synthetic Reality Manual.
The title of _Augmentology 1[L]0[L]1_ is deliberate and reflects concerns
relevant to networked communication. _1[L]0[L]1_ is a combination of “101″
and “LOL” and references George Orwell’s “Room 101″ encountered in his
novel _1984_. These allusions are intended to combine and point towards
concepts relevant to online functioning: Room 101 indicating online
functioning as perceived by status-quo advocates as an embodiment of unknown
terrors; the numeral 101 indicating a basic educational rubric. LOL is a
type of abbreviated text/internet chatspeak for the concept of “Laugh Out
Loud”. This melange of concepts largely represent the fomentation of
elements that occur within Synthetic Environments and the discourse[s] that
result.
